The “Integrated HIV and AIDS Control Program” has been implemented by UPKM/CD Bethesda YAKKUM in two very different regions that share similar challenges: Belu Regency, a border area in East Nusa Tenggara, and Yogyakarta City, a densely populated and diverse student city.
Over the past six years, this program has gone beyond providing education and healthcare services. More importantly, it has fostered a community-based approach, promoted the elimination of stigma, strengthened AIDS Care Community (Warga Peduli AIDS/WPA), and created safe spaces where people living with HIV can lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives.
