The “Integrated HIV and AIDS Control Program” has been implemented by UPKM/CD Bethesda YAKKUM in two very different regions that share similar challenges: Belu Regency, a border area in East Nusa Tenggara, and Yogyakarta City, a densely populated and diverse student city. Over the past six years, this program has gone beyond providing education and healthcare services. More importantly, it has fostered a community-based approach, promoted the elimination of stigma, strengthened AIDS Concerned Citizens Groups (Warga Peduli AIDS/WPA), and created safe spaces where people living with HIV can lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives.

In this episode, we explore the concept of the Digital Village, one of whose key initiatives is the Village Information System (SID), and its connection to healthcare programs. What are the challenges and rewards of managing an SID? And how do local government policies accommodate and support the needs of this system?
