Empowering the Next Generation in Reproductive Health Efforts

Youth is one of the most crucial phases of life that determines one’s future. Youth who fail to live a healthy lifestyle will likely face many challenges in continuing their education, finding employment, starting a family, or participating in society. Unhealthy behaviours include premarital sex, marrying too young or at a child’s age, abortion, drug use, and so on. One of the priorities for youth who want to adopt healthy lifestyles is information about reproductive health. Quality reproductive health information that is easily accessible and free from stigma is a need that cannot be delayed. Youth need information from trusted individuals willing to serve as mentors or confidants for those in uncertain situations who are unsure whom to share their stories with. This is the approach taken by our current expert. What are the specific roles in providing youth reproductive health education and counselling? What challenges are encountered in delivering youth reproductive health education and counselling?
